Check-in got the whole stay off to a rough start. We showed up on time, but still ended up standing around with almost no updates from the front desk, which was really frustrating.

The staff looked busy, so I tried to be patient, but when we asked what was happening, the answers were vague and kind of short. Hearing “soon” over and over made me start wondering if we were being brushed off or fooled into accepting a delay without any real explanation.

For what we paid, I expected the arrival to be smooth and simple. Instead, it felt disorganized and stressful before we even got to the room

I came here really looking forward to a quiet, adults-only relaxation day, but it felt much busier and less peaceful than I expected. The pools were nice enough, and the staff was fine, but the overall vibe just wasn’t as calm or relaxing as I’d hoped for the price. I also wasn’t thrilled that the terms seemed to have changed from what I originally thought I was booking, which was frustrating. Maybe it’s better on a slower day, but for me it didn’t feel worth it

The location really worked out for us. I still remember how relieved we felt being able to get where we needed without any stress or confusion. It made the whole trip feel a lot easier and more enjoyable.

I’m not sure if they were just between maintenance visits or something, but the grounds didn’t look as nice as I expected. The paths were kind of messy, and there seemed to be weeds pretty much everywhere.

The place itself looked nice, so I want to be fair about that. But when we stayed, it was really packed and noisy, especially around the pool and in the hallways. It made it hard to actually relax. For what we paid, I think it’s reasonable to expect a quieter, more peaceful experience.

Uh, the room just wasn’t comfortable for me. The bed really hurt my back, and I barely slept all night.

Overall, making the reservation was easy and everything seemed to go through without any trouble. The only thing I noticed was that the confirmation email didn’t show up right away, so I was waiting around for a bit and wondering if it had actually processed. It did eventually come through, though, so in the end it was fine.

I came here with my kids and, it just didn’t feel like the right place for a family. We’ve stayed at plenty of places before where kids were genuinely welcomed, but this had more of a quiet adults-only kind of vibe. That’s totally fine if that’s what they’re going for, but it shouldn’t be made to seem like families will feel comfortable. We felt a bit unwelcome and on edge most of the time, and there wasn’t much for the kids to do either. I wouldn’t book this again for a family trip.

The spa area is really and has a nice vibe, but my treatment felt a bit rushed. For the price, I was expecting around a better overall experience. The therapist was friendly, but seemed kind of distracted, and the massage was lighter than what I asked for. Check-in was also about slower than I expected. Nice place overall, but I left feeling a little disappointed

The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless, which I really appreciated. I did notice a little dust near the window, but it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t take away from the stay overall

It has that nice historic feel, and my brain immediately went, “old charm = cozy,” which was mostly true. But you can also tell it’s dated and a bit worn in places. Still, if you’re into character over modern polish, it has its appeal...

I mostly went for the mineral pools, and they were wonderful. The water was warm, clean, and felt amazing after the drive up to Calistoga. I loved that the whole place had a calm, easygoing vibe and wasn’t overly fancy or intimidating. It did get a little busy here and there, so it wasn’t peaceful every single minute, but I still felt really relaxed and happy I went. I’d definitely come back, especially for those pools.

Thinking back on our stay, the rooms and pool area just didn’t feel very well cared for. A lot of things seemed old or worn out, and I remember noticing a few repairs that looked like they’d been ignored for a while. Overall, it gave the impression that the place was run down.

We had breakfast here during our stay and, it was nice. The coffee was actually hot, the food came out quickly, and the staff were friendly, which is always a pleasant surprise. The menu isn’t exactly huge, but there was enough for us to find something. It’s a bit on the pricey side for what it is, but I guess that’s just how things are now. Overall, a good way to start the morning...

The place was nice overall, but the room rates felt high for what we actually got. Once the extra charges were added on, it just made the stay feel even less worth it.
